Me and Andrew recently stayed in the DeVere Hotel Coventry at The Ricoh Arena. We stayed in a pitch view room and although the football wasn’t on (which was probably for the better) it was really lovely. There is also the addition that it is a neighbour to the Casino in which we spent most of our evening.
The room was equipped with en-suite bath rooms, a work desk which was WIFI enabled, tea and coffee facilities and a double bed. These pillows may have been the comfiest pillows. The bed wasn’t all that but the pillows made up for it. I usually enjoy a hard pillow and these were the kind your head sinks into, they were amazing.
The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest bathroom I have seen with chunks of dust hanging from the vent which wasn’t pleasant. And unfortunately we were put into a carers room where the carers ‘wall entry’ hadn’t been closed. This meant that our neighbours/us could open it into each others rooms. Of course we didn’t but this did make us very uncomfortable. When we informed the reception about this mistake we were told that nothing could be done because the housekeepers had the key and were not there. I can’t say this filled me with glee.
The desk and coffee facilities were as to be expected but it was a nice touch to have a fan in the room. Although the weather is now getting cold I find it nicer to sleep when I have a fan. We had breakfast in the morning which we paid extra for. This was a full english and was very enjoyable.
I’m not the biggest fan of football, however there was something about this view that I just loved. It just felt special because it was something so different. It’s not every day you stay at a hotel where you can walk out onto a football pitch. This was made even better by the fact that it was so quiet so we basically just had the whole pitch to ourselves. A lovely memory. All in all I would recommend staying at the DeVere hotel in Coventry.
These rooms start from £50 you can find out more here: DeVere at The Ricoh Arena
