Everyone needs to go and watch Alice through the looking glass and this is why..
Today I went to the cinema to watch Alice through the looking glass. I even splashed out and watched it in 3D. As I sat in my chair, near the door I questioned myself a few times whether I would be scared and cope I find that hilarious now but that’s how anxiety rolls.
I laughed hilariously at the adverts and now absolutely need to see the secret life of pets and then Alice began. And from the offset it hit me right in the feels.
Watching a strong female character always makes me feel like I am adding calcium to my back bone and the way family situations were shown really gave me a personal feel to the film, when you say stupid ass things to each other, the thought of not being able to say sorry really got to me, and yet these are things we do all the time. Being snappy, not appreciating the gifts that are the people and the love that is shared in our lives.
Also how much not telling the truth or admitting your faults and allowing some one else to feel the brunt of it could really affect the future, regardless of how nice you are from then on.
And then there is how ‘Time’ was portrayed, wow, this alone is why I think everyone should watch the film, it really made me realise how wrong we look at time. As Alice first said she felt time was a thief, by the end of the film it helps you to realise what a gift life is and how we really need to make sure we are enjoying every second of it.
And what is more, we can go back in time no matter how many times and disrupt things, but we will never change the outcome of what happened, we can only learn from it. How powerful is that!
So.. now I want to watch Alice through the looking glass again, I laughed, I cried and as I left I really felt like I had learnt from it. And as for time calling Alice’s watch an old fallen soldier, well that one is going right in the memory box of feels.
I hope this makes sense, I really didn’t want to spoil the film for any of you but really wanted to write a blog post on how much I enjoyed it.
Now I need to get me a Cheshire cat something… and just ALL of The Alice in Wonderland things!!
