I recently attended a blogger event with Coventry bloggers, the exciting thing about this group means that the event was in the local Starbucks in Coventry Town. I was really looking forward to the event and then my anxiety took hold and I found myself in TK MAXX trying to find an outfit like an hour before I was meant to leave haha, alas, I went and it was good. Coffee is always a win, the fact tasty goodies were involved also was even better, and of course, nice company.
When we arrived we were treated to a tasty grande drink, I chose the Cookies and cream frappuccino but had it with oat milk. Then we all sat at a table and got to business.
We first learnt about coffee, it’s origins and heritage. We learnt that it was first monks that discovered the delicious beverage that is coffee.
From the Starbucks Website:
Latin American coffees such as Guatemala-Antigua page tend to be clean, familiar and friendly, with flavors reminiscent of nuts or cocoa.
Coffees from Africa/Arabia such as Kenya are extraordinary and enticing, with floral aromas and flavors of berries and citrus.
Coffees from Asia/Pacific such as Sumatra tend to be bold and assertive, full-bodied with earthy and herbal flavors.
As you can see from above photo, something that I have never considered before but which makes total sense is that specific coffee tastes have foods that accompany it. It was actually fascinating how the foods could change how the beverage tasted in my mouth.
We were also invited to taste something from the menu, I chose the BBQ Chicken & Bacon Toastie.
‘Starbucks® signature cheese topped sourdough filled with chicken breast, mature cheddar, mozzarella, cheese & Dijon Mustard sauce and hickory smoked bacon with a Texas BBQ sauce’
It tasted just how it looks, it was delicious and I would definitely eat it again. After our meal we discussed the Starbucks card, app & the benefits from using it. I didn’t realise you can order from the app so that when you arrive in store you can collect your pre-ordered, pre-paid for Starbucks goods. We then met with a Barista who showed us some fun latte art.
At the end of the night we were gifted a goody bag with a lovely drawn gift tag. Inside was a re-usable cup, a gingerbread bear, a chocolate coin, some vouchers and a box of starbucks coffee.
A big thank you to Starbucks Coventry and Coventry bloggers for inviting me!
